August 1st is the actual anniversary of the original “experimental”
camp on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour in UK.
Today around the world, celebrations and reenactments have been taking place, including the reenactment on Brownsea Island as part of the World Jamboree, and a range of other activities around Australia and in many other countries.

BBC Special Event
From 30th July, BBC will release three exclusive short films commemorating
the event which will be available to watch on the BBC SouthToday Website
The clips will show:
- Arriving - 2 Scouts from each country will be staying on Brownsea Islandto celebrate the Centenary of Scouting
- On The Island - Tuesday 31st July BBC will be with the
scouts as they explore the island.
- The Sunrise Ceremony - BBC cameras will give you unprecedented access to this historical occasion.
